FILMMAKER SHOWCASE

Daniel Robinson

Dan Robinson

Daniel Robinson is a junior at Widefield High School and came to YDA interested in learning how to translate good writing into film. Daniel is a voracious writer and proposed a film that would explore racial stereotyping, in particular the profiling of black men. A self-proclaimed gamer and writer, Daniel’s own experiences of being pigeon-holed because of race permeates his film WHITE CHOCOLATE. The film questions why black people are expected to excel in sports and entertainment but less capable in other pursuits. Daniel is also adept at using humor and popular culture references in his work. He hopes to pursue writing in college.
